James Sawyers

LAKELAND - James Sawyers, Sr. passed away peacefully on April 11, 2021 with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Carol of 62 years, son James Jr. (Shelly), daughter Andrea (Karl), and seven grandchildren, Ruthie and Joey Sawyers, Kelley (Jordan) Power, Catherine, Claire, Carolyn, and Krista Jordan. He was preceded in death by his son William George Sawyers. Jim was extremely active throughout his life in his church and in music. Jim enjoyed a long and successful career as a Physical Therapist and was remembered fondly by his patients as being kind, patient and effective. Jim loved music and was a longtime member of the Lakeland Choral Society and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lakeland since 1963. Jim served on church council, taught adult Sunday school for many years and sang bass in the choir for the duration of his membership. We thank God for his life of love and service.
