Larry Wayne Tinsley

LARRY W. TINSLEY, 74 LAKELAND - Larry W. Tinsley, 74 passed away on Saturday December 26th, 2020 at his home in Lakeland, FL. He was born in PeeWee Valley, Kentucky to Harold and Gladys Tinsley who preceded him in death. Larry was raised in rural Kentucky where he was instilled with a strong work ethic that he carried with him throughout his entire life. In 1967 Larry moved to Lakeland, FL with his wife Margaret to be closer to his family. The newly weds began building a life together that would carry them thru almost 54 years of marriage. Larry always greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word, well loved by everyone he came in contact with. Larry loved nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Larry and Marge would spend their weekends camping across the state of Florida. In 1986 Larry began a career with Jenkins Lincoln Mercury where he excelled at his craft as an Ford Master Technician. He had a talent for all things mechanical. Larry also had vast knowledge of horticulture that he used to create a lush landscape of beautiful foliage at their home. Larry retired from Jenkins Lincoln Mercury in 2016 after 40 years of service. In his final years, Larry began to paint portraits he felt a connection to and created a wood working shop at his home. Larry spent his final days in the company of his family and maintaining the land he and Marge loved so much. Larry leaves behind his Wife , Margaret, 73, and their 2 sons David, 52, wife Kimmy of Port Angeles, WA and Danny (40) his husband Morgan (Savannah, GA) his brothers Mike Tinsley, Bill Tinsley, and their sister Vickie Tinsley Jerkins. Larry had 3 grand children, Corey, Cody, and Cheyenne. The family continued to grow with the addition of four great grandchildren Waylon, McKenna, Ryker and Timber. The family will have a Celebration of Larry’s life (future date to be determined). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local blood drive or favorite wild life organization of your choice.
