Virginia Braxton

Virginia C. Braxton, of Lakeland, passed away on July 7, 2016, at the age of 98. She was born in Vanceboro, North Carolina, on July 18, 1917, to the late William and Bessie Covington. Virginia married Leo Braxton on September 14, 1939. Mr. and Mrs. Braxton moved from Marianna, Florida, to Lakeland, Florida in 1993. Virginia worked for Kraft Foods for many years, where she retired in 1979. She joined First United Methodist Church in 1973, and was a member of Homebuilders Sunday School Class, and UMW Circle #6. Mrs. Braxton was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leo Braxton, and two sisters, Nivetta Garret and Margaret Rayburn. Virginia is survived by her niece, Betty Lou Baker of Chocowinity, North Carolina. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Florida Presbyterian Homes, 16 Lake Hunter Dr, Lakeland, FL 33803.
