William ""Bill"" Schultz, 82 (Educator/ Minister) Lakeland- Bill Schultz, 82, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2014, due to complications from dementia, at his home with his family gathered around him. He was born in Grove Hill, AL, on Oct.6, 1931 to Archie and Lucy Schultz. Bill was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force serving as a radio instructor, which took him on flights to many countries. He would love travel and cultural sites for many years to come. His friends called him ""The World traveler"". He was graduated from, what is now, Southeastern University, from Florida Southern College and from Rollins Collage. He spent 35 years in the public school system, as coach, teacher counselor and administrator. In 1970, he received the Outstanding Young Educator""s award from the Lakeland JCs. Bill was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and pastored several home missions churches in Florida. Missions trips were his delight! He helped to start the Full Gospel Businessmen""s Assoc. in Lake Wales in the 1980s. He loved explaining the Scriptures and spent much time in study. He supported three Latin American Child Care (LACC) students with the Assemblies of God. He was an avid reader. Well versed on many topics, he loved a good conversation. Bill was a lover of people. His relatives and friends have fond memories of ""game night with Uncle Bill"". He enjoyed teaching youngsters to play chess. Bill never met a stranger, always offering one of his quick witted and funny comments to make them smile! He loved telling stories of his past experiences and left you wanting to hear more. He was generous to those in need. He was a giver. He gave much to help reopen and revitalize a number of small churches. He is survived by 1 brother, Horace and 2 sisters, Bertie Lee and Marie. He is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Virginia Doris; a son, Scott; a daughter, Sharon; 3 grandchildren, Danielle, Jacob (Courtney), Nina and a great grandson, Brayden. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 18, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Tribute Center of Heath Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Friday September 19, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
