Andrew J. Hoge

Andrew J. Hoge of Lakeland, FL passed away peacefully on April 3, 2023, at the age of 52. He was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on Dec 6, 1970, to William and Joan Hoge. He moved with his family to Ottawa, Illinois in 1974. The family relocated to Lakeland, FL in 1979. He graduated from Lakeland Senior High (1989), Polk Community College (1990), and University of South Florida (1992). He enjoyed careers with Busch Gardens (Tampa), Universal Studios (Orlando) and lastly State Farm Insurance (Tampa, New Orleans, Winter Haven).

He is survived by his mother, Joan, father, William, brother, Bill, his wife Helen, niece, Rachel, nephew, Ryan and brother, Ted.

Prior to having a severe stroke on April 3, 2015, Andy was an adventure seeker and spent his life being very social and having fun. He loved playing golf and games of all types, watching sports and movies, going to amusement parks and anything having to do with the USF Bulls. He was intelligent with a supernatural memory and very honest with high integrity.

Andy was given a 3% chance to live 30 days after his stroke in 2015. He passed away on the 8-year anniversary of his injury. He had a love for life and a strong and determined will to live despite all odds. He was a fighter! He was surrounded by the love and support of his family members and significant caregivers throughout the years.

A private family service was held at the Heath Funeral Chapel in Lakeland, FL on April 8, 2023.
