Ann Elizabeth Hart

Ann Elizabeth Hart, 95, of Lakeland, FL, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. Born on October 28, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of Joseph Hart Moriarty and Loretto Marie Hogan Moriarty. She had two brothers, Patrick Moriarty and Hart Moriarty.

When she was a teenager, Ann met the love of her life, Alan Hart, on a blind date in Detroit, Michigan. The two married in Forth Worth, Texas in 1948 and lived in Detroit, where their first two sons were born. In 1951, Ann and Alan moved to Lakeland, Florida, where they had three more sons and two daughters and lived the rest of their lives.

Ann created a beautiful and comfortable home for her family and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed a community of friends, including the years with her Sip and Stitch group, where they quilted, drank, and solved the world’s problems. In addition to quilting and sewing, Ann enjoyed craft painting, antiquing, movies, watching Notre Dame football and reading.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, her infant son, William Christopher, her husband Alan R. Hart Sr., and daughters-in-law Coleen Hart and Lou Hart. She is survived by her children, Stephen Hart, Alan R. Hart, Jr., Patrick Hart (Shelley), Michael Hart, Loretto Hart, and Mary Hart (Greg Walkup); grandchildren, Christopher Hart (Jaye), Esther griffin (Charlie), Joseph Hart (Savanna), Benjamin Hart (Erynn), and Rebecca Hart; great grandchildren, Holden Hart, Keegan Hart, Vanessa Hart, Mila Hart, Eli Hart and Gracie Hart.

A private family service will be held to honor Ann’s life.
