Anthony Volpe, (aka Antonio Vittorino Mangino Volpe), 82, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bugnara, Italy, on September 3, 1942, he carried the spirit of his homeland throughout his life. Anthony was a devoted father and cherished grandfather and great-grandfather.
He grew up in the picturesque village of Bugnara in the Abruzzo region, known for its rich history and beautiful landscapes. Anthony developed a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the simple joys of life. He immigrated to the United States in 1955, seeking new opportunities and building a life in Youngstown, Ohio and later New Middletown, Ohio. He was proud to have lived the American dream, as he owned land and built a home for his family.
Anthony worked at Republic Steel Corporation later known as LTV Steel as a millwright. He enjoyed building, driving, and entering his hot rod in numerous competitions. His love for painting as well as sculpture was nurtured by his favorite teacher in high school where he won multiple gold key awards. His hobbies included: planting, harvesting, and canning vegetables and fruits, bottling homemade wine from his vineyard, and collecting coins and stamps. In his spare time, Anthony volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and Little League baseball organization. Every fall, he cheered for his favorite college football team, "The Ohio State Buckeyes". While in Lakeland, he enjoyed picking blueberries and gardening.
Anthony is survived by his daughter Tamara Volpe, whom he made his home, sons Marc Volpe (wife Janet Skarda) and Steven Volpe (wife Jane Volpe), and their mother, ex-wife Laberta Volpe. In addition, he is survived by brother Mario Volpe (wife Janet Volpe), nephews Mario and Michael Volpe. Grandchildren Erica Kinder (husband Fredric Gambale), Rachel Kinder, Victoria Borer (husband Logan Borer), Sophia Smith (husband Tanner Smith), Vincent Volpe (wife Angela Volpe), Erin Volpe, Natalie Volpe, Anthony Volpe, Megan Volpe. Great-Grandsons Michael and Leonardo Gambale, Jedidiah Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beniamino and Maria (Di Tommaso) Volpe.
Anthony will be buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio receiving a small ceremony at 11 am on August 13, 2025. A dedication Mass will be held in his honor at 4 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Resurrection Catholic Church Lakeland, Florida.

Anthony's life was a testament to the strength of family, the warmth of his Italian heritage, and the enduring power of love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
