Brian "Bernie" Travis Burns

Brian Travis Burns “Bernie”, 57, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on April 18, 2026. Born January 24, 1969, Brian was a talented artist, devoted father, and cherished friend whose creativity and kindness touched many lives.

A graduate of Santa Fe Catholic High School and the Ringling School of Art and Design, Brian built a career centered on his passion for art. He was known for his work in painting, sculpture, graphite, sketching, and photography. Through his art, he shared his unique ability to find beauty in everyday life. Brian enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, reading, listening to music, and spending time at the beach.

He will be remembered for his warm spirit, sense of humor, loyalty, and dedication to those he loved. Brian is survived by his daughter, Avary Michelyn Burns, who was his pride and joy; his sister, Heather Moore; and his stepchildren, Victoria Paradise Jones and Lenny Paradise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Lynn Burns.

A Mass will be held on June 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lakeland, followed by a Celebration of Life at The Heights.
