Calvin "Bobby" Wyatt, 77, Lakeland - Calvin ""Bobby"" Wyatt, 77 of Polk City, Florida passed away at home from lung cancer on July 6, 2015. Bobby was born November 28, 1937, in Haywood County, North Carolina to Clyde Lewis and Fannie Lee Wyatt. They later moved to Polk County in 1952. Bobby founded Wyatt Sheet Metal, Inc. in 1967, one of the first modern shops in Polk County. Later he partnered with his older son, Mike and Charles Fitzgibbons to form Wyatt-Fitzgibbons Sheet Metal. Both of Bobby""s sons, Mike and Steve are still actively involved in the daily operation after nearly 50 years in business. Bobby""s love of the outdoors often found him in the woods hunting, the lakes fishing or on the links golfing. He once held hunting licenses in five different states at the same time. His real love was for aircraft and aviation, earning a private pilot""s license in 1973. He was a member of the local EAA Chapter that in 1975 formed what is now the Sun n Fun Flyin. One of Bobby""s major achievements was the restoration of his 1942 award winning Stearman biplane ""Rags"" that has been featured on the cover of several worldwide publications. He was also the first president of the Florida Biplane Association. Bobby is survived by his best friend and current wife, Susan Wyatt. He is also survived his first wife Shirley Wyatt, the mother of his children, Melanie (Larry), Steve (Deborah), Mike (Jo), six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his loving sister, Betty Hetrick. A celebration of Bobby""s life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1945 N. Florida Avenue, Lakeland, FL. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with service to follow.
