Charles Edward Tapscott

Charles “Bud” Edward Tapscott passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at his home in Lakeland. He was born in Florence, Alabama, and raised in Lakeland by his parents, Haywood, and Charlene.

He attended Lakeland schools graduating from Lakeland Senior High School in 1961. He graduated with a BA in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida. He was immediately recruited to the east coast of Florida employed at Radiation/Harris Corp as a project engineer. In 1995, he moved to Anaheim, California to work for M-Flex, Inc as Chief Technology Officer until his retirement.

He recently returned to Lakeland with his wife of 59 years, Margaret Woodall Tapscott.

In addition, he is survived by his sister, Carolyn Lehman, children, Audra, Chad, and Heath; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces and 1 nephew.

The memorial service will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park on Friday December 8, 2023, at 11:00am. The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
