In Loving Memory of Daniel H. Sherman III
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Sherman, who left us on June, 12th at the age of 78.
Dan was a loving husband and father and a devoted friend who touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his strength, his quiet wisdom, dry sense of humor, and his love for his family.
Dan was a military Veteran, a golf enthusiast, a sportsman, and an avid reader. He loved being outside and working in the yard. He was a Captain in the Army, serving with heavy artillery on the DMZ during the Vietnam war. A graduate of Lakeland High School (1964) and Florida Southern College (1968), he worked for Linder Machinery for most of his career before retiring in Lakeland.
He is survived by his wife Carol, his high school sweetheart, whom he married in 1966. He is also survived by his daughter Ashley (Donnelly) Chester, her husband Tom Chester, and her children Aine Donnelly and Emrys Donnelly, as well his eldest grandson Dylan Sherman. He was preceded in passing by sons Daniel Sherman IV and David Taylor Sherman. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A service will be held to honor his life at First Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, Fl on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at 3:00 pm.
