Lakeland

David Hall was born on January 9, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2026, at the age of 86.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ruth Hall.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Darlene Hall; his sons, David Hall (Chris), Dennis Hall (Sara), David Stubbs (Michelle), and Wade Stubbs; and his brothers, Dr. Robert Hall (Lynn) and James Hall (Dale).

He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Brandon, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Alli, Beth, Sam Hall; Clay, Megan, and Wyatt Stubbs. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter, Piper Hall, as well as many nieces and nephews residing in North Carolina.

David attended the University of Missouri from 1957 to 1961 before earning his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine from 1961 to 1964. He completed his internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii and served as a Captain in the United States Army. He subsequently completed a fellowship at the University of Missouri, specializing in angiography and computer applications in radiology.

Dr. Hall served as a radiologist with Watson Clinic and as an interventional radiologist at Lakeland Regional Medical Center from 1971 until his retirement in 2000. Throughout his career, he was respected for his medical expertise, dedication to patient care, and his contributions to the advancement of radiology in the Lakeland community. Following retirement, he volunteered with Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, reading X-rays for three years. Thereafter, he embraced retirement fully, enjoying each day with gratitude and purpose.

His many interests included woodworking, flying his airplane, genealogy, traveling, photography, and, most of all, being “Papaw” to his family.

Dave was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
