LAKELAND - Dennis (Denny) Michael Boudreau, 80, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024. Denny was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Dolores Boudreau.
He is survived by Bonnie (Schultz), his wife of 56 years; his siblings, Carol Meredith, Tim Boudreau, and Janet Johnson; his daughter, Chris Newcomb (Pete) of Lake Placid, NY, and his sons Ron (Shari) and Ted (Ashlea) both of Lakeland; his 5 grandchildren: Andrew, Emily, and Olivia Boudreau, Isaac Newcomb, and Addison Westberry; and his 3 great-granddaughters.
Denny was born and raised in Bourbonnais, IL, where he was a boy scout and altar server. He graduated from St. Patrick’s Central High School and Southern Illinois University. He served 4 years in the USAF, spending time in Alexandria, LA and Okinawa, Japan.
Denny had a love of airplanes and flying and was a private pilot. He loved volunteering to fly the Young Eagles, and he served as past president of the EAA. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
He worked in the trucking industry for Grace Distribution and later was a sales rep in the manufactured housing industry. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, watching sports on TV, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. In his younger days he loved fishing, golfing, playing softball and flying model airplanes that he built.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 30th at 11:00 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland and will be live-streamed at youtube.com/@RCCS_Lakeland. Burial will be held on December 31, 2024, at 11 am at FL National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
