Doris Virginia Bryant

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Doris Virginia Booth Bryant of Lakeland, FL. She died at age 92 on May 28, 2022 at Good Shepherd Hospice House. A native Floridian, Doris was born on May 20, 1930 to Henry James Booth and Hazel Iona Severance and had four siblings: Dorothy Stella Booth, Jewell Lorraine King, Henry James Booth Jr., and Mary Frances Booth. She was married for 49 years to Hiram McNeal Bryant Sr. She now joins all of them in heaven. Doris is survived by her children Virginia Patrice Brown and Donald McNeal Bryant, grandchildren April Michelle Brown and Rachel Patrice Brown, and other extended family. She is also survived by her close friends who she viewed as family: Peggy Duncan & Family and Joan, Angela, Ashley, and Callie Sallot. Doris had many roles and loves in her long life. She was a sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. A nurse, a surrogate grandmother to the many children she babysat over the years, a poet. She loved playing cards, listening to music, and watching documentaries. Before losing most of her vision to macular degeneration, she was a magnificent artist and painter. She was a friend, someone to confide in, and an avid lover of life. The world has truly lost an amazing person with her passing, but she lived a long life filled with love and is remembered by those left behind always. A graveside service will be held in her honor at 12:30 pm on Sunday June 5,2022 at Lakeland Funeral Home, Memorial Gardens & Crematory.
