Dr. Julian Bemko

Dr. Julian Bemko, 89, Dentist Lakeland- Dr. Julian Bemko of Lakeland formally of Millburn, N.J. died June 20, 2011 of complications from Alzheimer""s disease. He was born October 14, 1921 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Dr. Bemko was a US Navy lieutenant who served in Japan during World War II, and later worked as a dentist in Union, NJ for 41 years. He was a member of the Union Rotary, Ukrainian American Veterans, Millburn Old Guard, New Eyes for the Needy, Habitat for Humanity and Adopt a Hospital, shipping donated medical equipment to Ukrainian hospitals. He will long be remembered for his amazing gift of loving and touching many through his music and songs. He was a long standing member of Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Millburn, N.J, He is survived by his beloved wife Olga, of 65 years, five children, Paul Bemko of Needham, MA; Patricia Morrow of Kresgeville, PA; Pamela Matheny of Lakeland, FL; Karen Kemp of Lakeland, FL; and Kristine Bemko of Bloomfield Hills, MI; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
