Edgar Jones, Jr

Edgar Whitson Jones Jr., 91 of Lakeland, passed away November 5, 2022. He is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Janet Jones. Born January 27, 1931, in Morton’s Gap, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Edgar and Myrtle Bales Jones. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Witte, Eleanor Burt, Gloria Winders and a brother, Philip Jones.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children, Linda (Terry) Lindsey, Carol Cavanagh, Graham (Laura) Jones, Sarah (Chad) Worth and Daniel Jones, 10 grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. Mr. Jones received his master’s degree in marketing research, and worked in the citrus industry. He was an active member and past President of the Florida Coalition of Rail Passengers. A memorial service will be conducted at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Florida Presbyterian Homes, Inc., Loving Care Endowment Fund.
