Elaine M. Turner 75, of Lakeland, Florida died Thursday July 10, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Hospice Lakeland Hospice House in Lakeland, FL.

She was born June 18,1950, in Catskill, New York, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Norma (Poultney) Armstrong.

A beloved mother, she was devoted to her children and grandchildren.

Elaine was a lifetime member of the East Durham Ladies Auxiliary, and an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL.

She worked as a CNA and Rehab Tech. Elaine was very active in the school PTA when her children were in school, she was also a Girl Scout Leader.

Survivors include three children, Melinda (Patrick) King of East Durham N.Y., Christopher (Maricar) Merritt of Laguna Hills, CA., Jamie Merritt of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Daniel (Lila) King, Steven King, Andrew King, KC Alo, and Kimberly Merritt; siblings, Donald Armstrong of East Durham, N.Y., Marie (Kevin) Holland of Cornwallville, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Mary Winters, and Doris Vedder.

Services will be held at the Durham-Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Durham, New York on August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Cornwallville Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland, FL or Trinity United Methodist Church in Lakeland.
