Elizabeth Lou Felts “Betty Lou” passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on March 17, 2023. She was a loving mother and Nana, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Betty Lou was born in Freeport, Pennsylvania on August 11, 1937, to the late Raymond and Elizabeth Weiher. She grew up in Rio Grande, Ohio with her six siblings. After high school Betty Lou worked in Washington, D.C. as a secretary for the F.B.I., where she met her future husband of 55 years, Ralph G. Felts, Sr. (November 30, 1928 – December 12, 2011). Ralph and Betty Lou relocated from Burnsville, Minnesota to Lakeland, Florida in 1981 and made Lakeland their home ever since. They spent many summers in Minnesota at their home on Sand Lake that they built and loved.
Betty Lou is survived by her five children, Ralph Felts, Jr. (Doreen), Kathy King, Melody Pahr (Jeff), Kevin Felts (Lisa), and Pam Adams (Chris); 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; brother Lee Weiher and sister Martha Griebau.
A small service will be held this summer at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Betty Lou will be laid to rest next to her late husband.
