Evelyn Fouts Terry, 79 Teacher Plant City - Evelyn F. Terry, peacefully passed away at her home in Plant City, surrounded by family, from liver failure on December 7, 2014. Evelyn was born December 9, 1934, in Mulberry, Fl., to the late Dr. Manly Fouts, and Irvie Sweat Fouts. Evelyn moved from Mulberry to Lakeland when she was nine and graduated from Lakeland High School in 1952. She attended Florida Southern College, where she was an Alpha Delta Pi and a Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity Sweetheart. She graduated from FSC in 1955, and married her high school sweetheart, LH Terry, Jr. a First Lieutenant in the US Army Military Police stationed in Germany. She returned to Florida to begin her careers as a devoted wife, loving mother and teacher. She began teaching during the teacher walkout of 1968, and remained until her retirement in 2006. She taught at Carlton Palmore Elementary, Southwest Middle School in Lakeland, as well as Simmons Career Center in Hillsborough County. She touched so many of her students"" lives with her compassion and love of education. Evelyn was also active in the Junior League of Greater Lakeland, where she enjoyed Children""s Theater. She was a member of PEO Sisterhood, Chapter O, and Alpha Delta Kappa Teaching Sorority. She was an accomplished piano player, loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family she cared for so much! In fact, she was ""mom"" to so many of her own children""s"" friends Evelyn was just recently predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Linton H. Terry, Jr. She is survived by a loving family that includes her children: Cynthia Terry (John Singler) of Lakeland, Linton Terry of Plant City, Patricia Randall (Blaine) of Port Orange. Five grandchildren: Linton M. Terry (Nicole) of Lakeland, Aubrey Krueger (Bob) of Tampa, Kristen Terry (Jarrod) of Auburn, AL., Abigayle and Emma Randall of Port Orange. Four great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Braden, and Linton ""LJ"" Terry, and Trey Krueger. Her brother, George M. Fouts, Sr. (Gloria) of Lakeland, and many cousins, nieces, relatives by marriage, and her beloved dog, Molly. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tribute Center at Heath Funeral Chapel, with a celebration of life for both her and LH Terry being held Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel.
