Frances Jean Mumbauer Stewart, 89, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2024, in Lakeland Florida. She was the widow of Edward C. Stewart. They shared 40 years of marriage. Frances was a resident at The Estates at Carpenters, Lakeland, Florida.
Born in Lakeland, she was the daughter of Francis Clair Mumbauer and Dorothy Lentz Mumbauer. Frances graduated from Lakeland High School. She worked at General Telephone as a telephone operator.
Frances was a member of Ardella Baptist Church. She loved reading the Bible, gardening, journaling, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her smile and her positive, cup runneth-over outlook. She never met a stranger. She was quick to make conversation at the checkout counter or wherever she went. She was always known to say, “Have a Jesus filled day” and “I love you and your whole family”.
Frances is survived by her four children: Stephen David Wood (Denise), Deborah Suzanne Wood Romero (Willie), Sharon Jean Wood Johnson (David), John Russell Wood (Kathy), seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She will be interned at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on November 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Warrior Foundation (specialops.org).
