Gordon “Gordie” L. Heck Jr., 75, passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2026. He was born on June 3, 1950, to Gordon L. Heck Sr. and Phyllis (Anderegg) Heck, who welcomed him into a large and loving family.
Gordon proudly served his country in the United States military and the National Guard, earning a Purple Heart along with additional medals in recognition of his bravery and commitment. His dedication to service continued in his community, where he volunteered as a firefighter in Middlebury, Pennsylvania, generously giving his time and courage to others.
Throughout his life, Gordon held a variety of positions that reflected his strong work ethic and determination. He worked as a cement truck driver, served as a security officer at the Lakeland power plant, and later returned to college to study private detective work. After many years of hard work and dedication, he retired with pride.
A man of many interests, Gordon had a deep love for music and enjoyed serving as a DJ for family and friends. He also loved playing pool. His lively spirit and warm personality made him a joy to be around.
For the past 13 years, Gordon shared his life with his devoted partner, Annetta Miles, whose companionship brought him great comfort and happiness.
Gordon’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his children: Donna Adams and her children, Michael A. Adams and Austin D. Adams; Melinda Heck Custer and her children, Jessica Huerta, Brandi Heck, and April Heck; and Doug “Dougie” Heck and his daughter, Taila Heck. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Gordon is further survived by his siblings:

Gordon will be remembered for his courage, kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, loved him, and were touched by his life.

We come before You today with grateful hearts as we honor the life of Gordon (Gordie) L. Heck Jr. We thank You for the years You allowed us to share with him—the laughter he brought, the strength he showed, the love he gave, and the courage with which he lived his life. Lord, we thank You for Gordon’s selfless service to his country, for the sacrifices he made, for the bravery that earned his honor, and for the compassion he showed to others. We ask that You welcome him into Your eternal peace and rest, free from pain, free from worry, wrapped in Your everlasting arms. Bring comfort to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, to his loving partner, Annetta, to his brothers and sisters, and to all who had a chance to know him.
