Helen Mazzeo, a longtime resident of Lakeland, Florida, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
Helen was born on October 31, 1932, in Sevierville, Tennessee. She was one of 12 brothers and sisters. She moved with her family to Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where she met and married Francis Mazzeo in 1950. They moved their family to Lakeland, Florida in 1969.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Whaley, husband Francis Mazzeo, sons Charles and David (David died as an infant), and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her brother Theodore and her sister Billie Jean, daughters Deborah and Lisa (Roger), daughter-in-law Nancy, grandchildren Tony (Lona), Christina, Gary (Brandy), Jennifer, Robert, Michael, Candy (Steve), Christopher (Pam), Thomas, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Helen was a dedicated Publix employee for more than 27 years. She served in several different departments, and retired from her favorite, the Print Shop. She received numerous awards for exemplary service and perfect attendance. She enjoyed attending the retiree luncheons and visiting with her former co-workers.
Helen was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a firm believer in her faith. She had an unwavering dedication to Jehovah God and his principles.
Helen also had such an unconditional love for her family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, Florida. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the service will begin at 5 p.m.
