Jack Grenfell, 87, of Lakeland, Florida, lovingly known to his family as “Pop”, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Martin and Michael (Jennifer); grandchildren, Clark (Katie), Chloe (Kevin), and Corey; great grandchildren Liam, Layne and Rosie.
Born October 17, 1938, to the late William and Frances Grenfell, he was a proud lifelong resident of Lakeland, apart from the time he served as a military police officer in the U.S. Army. After the service, he worked in sales for Liggett & Myers Tobacco company, from which he retired and then went on to work in IT for the State of Florida’s Department of Children and Families.
Jack enjoyed traveling both locally and internationally with his wife and their close friend group. Outside of meeting weekly with his Men of Faith group, he could be found outdoors tending to his family’s property, feeding the birds, riding his golf cart, or enjoying a glass of wine on the porch. Jack valued his relationships — he spent ample time visiting with his close-knit community of neighbors and enjoying weekly meals together amongst multiple generations of family members.
In his honor, share a laugh, take a trip, and raise a glass of red wine.
A service will be held at 4 p.m. on April 11, 2026, with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. at the family’s Ross Creek residence.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Diabetes Association.
