James Allen Cooper, 79, of Lakeland, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. He was born in Greencastle, Indiana on July 6, 1942, to the late Leonard and Marilene Cooper. James graduated from Greencastle High School on May 24, 1961, and served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked as a Sales Representative for most of his career. James is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Cooper and nephew, Buster Cooper. He is survived by his nieces, Theresa “Terri” McDonald, Kimberly Cooper, nephew, Ed Cooper and many other loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to VISTE, Volunteers in Service to the Elderly, 1232 E. Magnolia Street, Lakeland, FL 33801, or Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by going to www.heathfuneralchapel.com and clicking on the obituary for Mr. Cooper approximately 5 minutes before the service starts. A mask is required to attend. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10 am at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S. Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801, with services to follow at 11 am. Interment at 2 pm at Florida National Cemetery.
