James J. Apel

James J. Apel, 87 James J. Apel, age 87, passed away on January 14, 2013 due to natural causes. He was born in Detroit, MI. to Clarence & Alma Apel. He was a US Navy Veteran. He was a policeman for the Detroit police dept. for 28 years, the last 10 as a detective sergeant. After retirement from the city, he worked for General Motors for 10 years. After leaving the work force, he & his loving wife Charlotte moved to Lakeland, FL. He is survived by his wife, his sisters Lorraine & Marylyn. His children Cathleen (William) Moore, Steven, Susan (Robert) Kuzilla, Barbara (James) Dunn and Michael (Sherry) Apel. Also four grand children and 3 great grand children. Preceded in death by 2 brothers Clarence & Jerrold. Funeral services with military honors 11:00 am Wednesday January 23, 2013 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
