James Walton Griffin

James Walton Griffin, 94 Atlantic Coastline, CSX Railroad Lakeland: James Walton Griffin, 94, of Lakeland, died on June 4, 2015 at his home. He was born on February 23, 1921 in Spring Hope, North Carolina. He was a member and deacon at Southside Baptist Church and was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Lakeland. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Matalie; son Wally Griffin; parents Carrie and Henry Griffin; sister Virginia Sellers; brother Edwin Griffin. He is survived by his daughter Jamie Lou Griffin of Lakeland; sisters Francis Orrell (Bobby) of Wilmington, North Carolina; Becky Greene of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Betty Williams (Bill) of Hope Mills, North Carolina. A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2015 from 5-7PM at Heath Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Oak Hill Burial Park with a celebration to follow at First United Methodist Church, Lakeland.
