Jeanette Alice Webb, 93, of Lakeland passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025. Born in Louisville, KY on August 12, 1932, to Michael Angelo DeFilippo and Mary Helen Silny. She graduated from the Nazareth School of Nursing in Lexington, Kentucky and began a lifelong career of compassionate care.

In 1953, Jeanette married the love of her life, Floyd G. Webb Jr., a U.S. Air Force Airman. Their journey brought them to Lakeland in 1958, where they built a home filled with faith, laughter and unconditional love. Over 67 years of marriage, they raised 12 children and watched their family tree flourish into 31 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

She is proceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Floyd G. Webb Jr.; her parents, Michael and Mary DeFilippo; brothers, Richard and Michael Jr.; sister, Mary Ann Lane; beloved daughter, Teresa Hammett; son-in-law, Franklin Howell; grandchildren, Vickie Howell and Donnacha Stack.

She is survived by her children, Floyd Webb III (Sandy); Deborah Howell; Stephen Webb (Karen); Patricia Bozeman (Randy); Michael Webb (Sally); Mary Jo Miller (Jeff); Daniel Webb (Terrie); Philip Webb (Eleni), Jeanne Bacon (Matt); Mark Webb (Angie), Gregory Webb (Ashley); and son-in-law, David Hammett.

Jeanette was a talented mother, whose skills knew no bounds. She was a masterful seamstress who crafted everything from a wedding gown, brides maids’ dresses, prom jackets, kids play clothes, prize winning Halloween costumes and many dresses for herself. She never had idle hands, she quilted, crocheted, made dolls and crafted from wood, full-size heirloom baby cradles for very household. She even upholstered the seats in her son’s car!

She loved to cook fabulous meals for her family, canned every vegetable, made jam and baked fancy birthday cakes for her kids. She designed beautiful wedding cakes for each of her children’s weddings and many for friends. She even made homemade lye soap.

She made childhood fun and filled with many beautiful memories. She nurtured the development of her children’s individual strengths and interests and emphasized the importance of education. All calculated, she helped with 30+ years of homework. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She has been a member of St. Joseph’s Parish since 1958. Services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 5:00-7:00pm at Heath Funeral Chapel in Lakeland. A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 9:30am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Oak Hill Burial Park, in Lakeland.
