Jeffrey Lee Baker, 61 President of LandSpan Lakeland: Jeffrey Lee Baker, 61, of Lakeland, died October 10, 2011 at home from a brief battle with cancer. He was born on January 11, 1950 in Kingsport; TN and grew up in Gate City, VA. Jeff retired from FedEx Freight in July 2011 following a distinguished career in the transportation industry and subsequently joined LandSpan as President in August of 2011. He is survived by his wife Ruth Baker of Lakeland; 4 daughters Misty Temple of Atlanta, GA; Kristine Rexford (Scott) of Lakeland; Katie Baker (Daryl) of Lakeland; Kariann Lott (Danny) of Lakeland; sister Josephine Herron (Tommy) of Kingsport, TN; brother James Baker; 2 grandchildren Mason and Aidan. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 13, 2011 at 2 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Lakeland.
