Joan Crissy Gerau

Joan Crissy Gerau, 83, Registered Nurse Lakeland, Joan Crissy Gerau, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at LRMC of complications from a fall. She was 83 years old at her death. She was born in Tyrone, PA on April 23, 1931, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pressley Josiah Crissy. She was the mother of four children: Deborah Marie Gerau, Lakeland, Fl, Pressley Wade Gerau, Victorville, CA, Jeffrey Lynn Gerau (deceased) and Don " Richard Gerau (deceased) .She had 14 grandchildren and 18 great " grandchildren. She was a RN at Fairmount General Hospital in Fairmount, WV. She was head nurse on the OB-GYN floor until her retirement in 2001. She moved to Lakeland in 2003, where she worked as a child care provider at a local church. She was a quilter and made many quilts that she gave to the less fortunate. One year she made 40 quilts and donated them to the Baptist Children""s Home in Lakeland, FL. She was a daughter of the King and a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bartow. A Memorial service will be held on January 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 500 W. Stuart Street, Bartow, Florida.
