John Michael Dowd, Jr. 88 United Parcel Service Mulberry- Mr. John Michael Dowd, Jr. died February 14, 2012 at LRMC of cancer. He was born October 15, 1923 in Hoboken, New Jersey. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Asiatic and Pacific Area and Philippines Liberation. Serving on the vessels USS Idaho and USS Mc Kee. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Dowd, Mulberry, Fl., daughters, Carol (Jose) Abelleira, Miami, Fl., Kathleen Anderson, Valrico, Fl. and granddaughter, Erin Anderson, Valrico, Fl. Military Services will be held at a later date with burial at sea.
