John Vincent Sirera of Lakeland passed away on September 30, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. He was 63 years old. John was born on February 21, 1962, in Portsmouth, Virginia to Vincent and Phyllis Sirera, he was one of five children. His family relocated to Lakeland in 1976. John graduated from Lakeland High School in 1980 and earned a degree in Architectural Drafting and Design from Tampa Technical Institute in 1988. He worked for Publix Supermarkets for 30 years before retiring in December 2021.
In his early years, John was an avid runner and racquetball player. During his retirement years he enjoyed swimming and became a passionate fan of pickleball. He spent over twenty years as a cub and boy scout leader; helping more than 30 young men earn the highest rank of Eagle Scout. After stepping back from scouting he continued mentoring youth as a camp counselor at the Bethany Center Annual Camp Brave Heart.
John will be remembered for his outgoing childlike enthusiasm that he brought to every adventure and activity he pursued. He touched many lives with his spirit and willingness to go the extra mile and give truly from the heart.
John is survived by his wife of 36 years Katrina Sirera; his two sons John Sirera (Addison) of Minneapolis, MN and Kevin Sirera of Lakeland, FL. His brothers James Sirera (Tracy) of Winter Haven, FL; Jack Sirera (Lori) of Lakeland, FL and sister Marie Brasure of Dyersburg, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Trish Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Heath Funeral Chapel in Lakeland, Florida. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow services at Oak Hill Burial Park, in Lakeland.
