John William Powers

Zephyrhills- John W. Powers, 65, a longtime resident of Zephyrhills, passed away Aug. 17, 2015 in his home. Born March 1, 1950, in the District of Columbia, his academic ability combined with an insatiable curiosity to know how things work led him to study engineering at the University of Michigan. He pursued a variety of interests throughout life including motorcycles, ham radio, the study of space exploration and science fiction writing. He was a passionate animal lover. Burial at Oakside Cemetery in Zephyrhills has taken place.
