Margaret Ann Mclaughlin

Margaret Ann McLaughlin, 93 Lakeland- Ms. Margaret Ann McLaughlin died on November 23, 2014 at Hawthorne Inn due to natural causes. Margaret was born on September 9, 1921 to William J. McLaughlin and Anne V. McMinamin in Spring Valley, WI. She is survived by her longtime friend and companion of 70 years Beatrice Dierling, Brother, James McLaughlin of Minneapolis, sister-in-law Margaret Susan McLaughlin of Lakeland and several nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Thomas Edward McLaughlin and nephews Cyril, Daniel and Terrance McLaughlin. She was a longtime member of St. Helena""s Catholic Church in South Minneapolis. Margaret worked for Sears in Minneapolis for several years before she and Bea bought Big Pines resort in Emily, MN. The resort was across the lake from an island which they also owned prior to them moving full time to Lakeland. They built a beautiful home on the island. Both Margaret and Bea have been long time seasonal residents at Twin Palms, in Lakeland. We want to thank the staff at Hawthorne Inn and Cornerstone hospice for the great care they took of Margaret in her final days and Deb Shaffer from Sr. Joseph""s who gave of herself to assist in the care of both Margaret and Bea. Her lifelong friend Bea, took great care of Margaret in the last few months. She will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 210 Lemon Street, Lakeland, Florida.
