Marian Alderman Nelson, 82 Church Secretary Lakeland- Mrs. Marian Alderman Nelson died on December 2, 2014 at Hawthorne Inn due to complications of Alzheimer""s disease. She was born December 14, 1931 in Lakeland, Florida. Marian was a longtime secretary to numerous ministers at First United Methodist Church. She was married for 35 years to John Z. Nelson of Columbia, South Carolina. Marian was secretary of Circle 10, FUMC, for many years, a member of the Lakeland Antique Club, a world traveler and a gourmand. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801 or to a donor organization of choice. Marian is survived by Niece, Loretta Lee, Statham, Ga. Grand Nephews, Stephen M. Raabe, Seattle WA and Michael L. Raabe, Lakeland, Fl. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church Sanctuary. Interment will be held in Columbia, S.C. in the Nelson mausoleum.
