Paul Brantley Peddy

July 12, 1962 — November 26, 2025

Paul Brantley Peddy of Tampa, FL died peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Born in Lakeland, FL on July 12, 1962, Paul was diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy. Despite significant disabilities, Paul defied all odds and lived 63 long, happy years. All who knew him have many fond memories of a life well lived.

Paul was transferred at an early age from Sunland Hospital in Orlando to Hillsborough County Development Center in Tampa. He lived among friends including Teddy and Joe, for over 40 years. The staff at HCDC provided Paul with excellent care and love. He, in turn, charmed all of them with his funny personality and wit. He famously would file “administrative complaints” with the staff on a weekly basis. When Paul was in the room there was always joy and laughter.

Paul is preceded in death by his mother, Susanne Coffman, grandfathers, AJ Peddy, and Paul Sanders, and grandmothers, Margaret Lee and Daisy Hansen. Paul is survived by his parents, Joe and Unis Peddy, brothers Jody Peddy (Susan), David Peddy, sister Ashley Fiore (Joey), stepbrother John Allen (Lori) and many nieces and nephews. They all thought the world of him.

The family is truly grateful for the many workers at HCDC and Pyramid who showered Paul with love and kindness over the years. We are also thankful to his Hospice team who cared for Paul and his family.

A small graveside service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to One More Child at 1015 Sikes Blvd, Lakeland, Florida 33815.
