Reverend Eldon Simmons, 99 United Methodist Minister Lakeland - The Reverend Eldon Simmons died December 4, 2014, at Florida Presbyterian Homes in Lakeland, FL due to natural causes. He was 99. Eldon was born near Wausau, Florida on February 13, 1915. He was a retired Methodist Minister with the Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 yrs. Elizabeth (Rodgers) Simmons. He is survived by his 5 Children: Rodger, Cathy, Jean (Ted), Robert (Cindy) and Diane (Richard), 5 Grandchildren: Beth, Lori, Kyle, Matthew and Heather, and 2 Great Granddaughters: Madeleine and Zoey. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Hospice of Winter Haven 2590 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, Fl. 33881 or to College Heights United Methodist Church, 942 South Blvd. Lakeland, FL 33803. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 3-5 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 10 am at College Heights United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Chiefland Cemetery in Chiefland, FL.
