Ronald Philip Buttiglieri, of Lakeland FL, died on Saturday April 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer and leptomeningeal disease. He died at home surrounded by his wife and siblings. He was only 63. Born on April 11, 1962, near Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of Richard and Joan (Orlandi) Buttiglieri, both deceased.
Ron was a loving husband to Debra (Heinicke) Buttiglieri, with whom he shared a life and marriage built on deep love, mutual respect, and unwavering partnership. They moved to Lakeland in 2017 (as Hurricane Irma landed) and he fulfilled his life-long dream of working for Disney. Prior to that, Ron worked as an executive Engineer and as an Apple “Genius.”
He was raised in a large, loving Italian family who lived and celebrated, encouraged and supported, and were loyal to each other for generations. He was a caring brother to Steve Buttiglieri (wife Amy), Diane Conroy (husband Phil), and Rich Buttiglieri (wife Kelly) all of Massachusetts. He loved his nieces and nephews, stepchildren, and many cousins. He was also a proud Pawdré to Loki and Willow.
Ron remained a loyal friend to many through the years and several of them traveled to his home to share stories and thank him for his mentorship and support. He lived a life marked by kindness, integrity, and quiet strength. He had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His wit was quick, and he often looked as though he had a secret, usually just before he pranked someone. He could quote hundreds of movies and TV villains and heroes in the character’s voice. He enjoyed all things Disney, especially Figment.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held In Massachusetts in early Autumn. Please contact his family for a date, time and location. All who knew and loved Ron are welcome to attend.
Though he is no longer with us, Ron’s love and memory will remain forever in our hearts.
