Sarah Evelyn Hargrove Brunson

Sarah Evelyn Hargrove Brunson, 92, of Lakeland, Florida, went to be with her Lord on April 16, 2023. She was born in Opp, Alabama on May 5, 1930.

She earned her B.S. degree in Education at Florida State University. She married her husband, Foye Timothy Brunson of 57 years, on November 13, 1952. She taught elementary school for over 40 years and positively affected so many young lives, many of whom often expressed the profound impact she had on their lives and development. She was honored in 1982 as the Teacher of the Year at Crystal Lake Elementary. Sarah was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She raised her children in an atmosphere rich in Christian principles. But most of all, she is remembered for her consistent example to her children and those around her of the love of the Lord.

She was preceded in her passing by her husband, Foye T. Brunson, and her first-born son, Drexel T. Brunson (Pamala) who went to be with his Lord in July of last year.

Sarah is survived by her sons, Foye Steven Brunson (Pamela) and Phillip Matthew Brunson (Kim), her brother, Leon Hargrove (Patsy), as well as many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
