Sarah Farlow Dickinson passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Florida Presbyterian Homes. Sarah was born September 4, 1943, in Randolph County, NC, daughter of the late Joseph Walter Farlow, Jr., and Irene Spencer Farlow. On December 23, 1966, she was married to the love of her life, Paul James Dickinson. Following her marriage, she resided in Florida with her husband, Paul, a minister in the Florida United Methodist Conference.
Sarah served faithfully with her husband throughout his years of ministry and was a treasured wife, mother, and grandmother. Her care, kindness, presence, and creativity were shared generously and with great humility with family, friends, and the many members of the churches her husband served. Sarah, who earned a master’s degree in mathematics, was a gifted teacher, whether in the college classroom, a Sunday School class, tutoring those who struggled academically or challenging her own children or grandchildren.
Sarah leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Paul, and two children: Amy Brown (Paul) and Mark Dickinson (Janet). She had seven much loved grandchildren (one deceased) and is survived by her siblings: Carolyn Hines (Al), Lowell Farlow (Molly) and Don Farlow (Mary).
Sarah’s family held a graveside service to celebrate her home going on January 13, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland, Fl. Memorials in Sarah’s memory may be directed to Cornerstone Hospice, 2140 East County Road 540A, Lakeland, FL 33813.
