Shirley Mae Lahr

Shirley Mae Lahr of Lakeland, Florida died on Friday, February 2, 2024.She was born in Granite City, Illinois on October 3, 1936, daughter of Clarence and Opal Lahr, former residents of Granite City.

The family moved to Lakeland, Florida in November of 1980.

She attended Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, Illinois. Shirley graduated from Belleville Area College, Belleville, Illinois, and was a graduate from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Florida.

She held various positions as secretary and caregiver. Shirley was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lakeland, Florida. She belonged to Legion of Mary and assisted with Faith and Light Organizations. Shirley worked as a volunteer at St. Joseph School Library, and volunteered her services at Watson Clinic, Lakeland, Florida.
