Celebrating the life of Tony Leung August 24, 1946 – June 16, 2026

We celebrate the life of Tony Leung, a man whose sense of humor and welcoming nature touched everyone he met. An immigrant and an entrepreneur, he valued education and understood its key to the American dream. Tony had an affinity for entertaining others and bringing joy wherever he went through his wit. He had a gift for bringing light and laughter into every room and making lasting impressions on all who knew him.

Born in Hong Kong, he traveled to America to attend Florida State University, graduating in 1968. Tony managed hotels and resorts for Holiday Inns before opening his first Subway restaurant franchise in 1989. His business acumen and work ethic later blossomed into 10 restaurants in his adopted home of Lakeland, Florida. Throughout his career, he was respected not only for his communicative management style but his integrity and dedication to helping others. Tony continued to support and root for his beloved Seminoles throughout his lifetime. Attending home games with his grandchildren was always a favorite pastime.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Joan Leung; his awesome sons, William Leung (Jodi Leung) and Brian Leung (Kelly Leung); his cherished grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face, Jaidyn, Jonah, Reagan, Jovi, and Charlotte. Tony loved his grandchildren and never failed to tell them so. He is also survived by his brother, William Leung (Roseanne), and sister, Irene Leongtave and loving nieces and nephews.

An avid cook and world traveler, Tony loved to share his passions with his sons and grandchildren. Tony lived life to the fullest and always on his own terms. He treated everyone he met with kindness and respect. His warmth, humor, wisdom and generous spirit will be deeply missed. He loved a good laugh, a well prepared meal, and the company of friends and family. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the laughter and recipes he shared, and the love he gave so freely.

A Celebration of Life honoring Tony will be held at a later time.
